Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Smokelog for using getsmokelog.com and the Smokelog service. They're written in plain language on purpose; the plain meaning is the intended one. By creating an account you agree to them.

The service

Smokelog records cook telemetry from Traeger WiFire-connected grills that you connect to your account, and presents it as live dashboards, cook archives, weather history, and notes. Smokelog is an independent product — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or made by Traeger Pellet Grills, LLC.

Your account

You must be at least 18 (you're paying for a subscription) and provide accurate information. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account. Connect only grills and Traeger accounts you own or are authorized to use.

Billing

Smokelog costs $5/month. New accounts get a 14-day free trial: a card is required to start, you're charged $0 today, and the first charge occurs after day 14 unless you cancel first. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. Cancel anytime from the billing page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, recording stops then, and no further charges occur. Your archive is preserved (see Privacy) unless you delete it. If a charge fails, we'll retry and pause recording until payment resolves. If something went wrong with a charge, email us — we're one person, not a phone tree, and we're reasonable about refunds.

Your data

Your cook data is yours. You grant Smokelog the limited license needed to store, process, and display it to you and to anyone you share your dashboard links with — that's all we use it for. Export or delete it anytime (details in the Privacy Policy).

Acceptable use

Don't use the service for anything unlawful, don't attempt to access other users' data or grills, don't resell the service, don't probe or overload the infrastructure, and don't automate bulk account creation. We can suspend accounts that do these things — with notice and a chance to respond, except where the abuse is actively harming others.

Third-party dependence — the honest caveat

Smokelog reads telemetry from Traeger's cloud, which we don't control. If Traeger changes, breaks, or restricts its interfaces, recording can be interrupted — sometimes for days — while we adapt. We'll always be working on it, but uninterrupted capture can't be guaranteed by anyone who isn't Traeger.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Smokelog is a record of your cook — it is not a food-safety device; use a real thermometer and your judgment for anything safety-related. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smokelog's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.

Termination

You can close your account whenever you like. We can suspend or terminate accounts for material violation of these terms (with the notice described above) or if we discontinue the service — in which case we'll give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change materially, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
